Recycla is a social enterprise focused on addressing the plastic crisis through three pillars—hosting experimental educational workshops, running a local plastic recycling space, and developing R&D to create a closed loop in the 3D printing industry by commercializing 100% recycled 3D filament. The project is co-founded by two immigrant women coming together with the common goal to be part of the solution to the plastic crisis and invite others to join along the way. Recycla is meant to be a home for community members to learn about the plastic crisis through action.

Impact
Awarded the Programme Science Impact of Esplanade Quebec to study the performance of different samples from PLA 3D printing waste when recycled into new filaments.
Hosted a “Life in Plastic, Not Fantastic” event where 35 community members learned about the Global Plastic Treaty and explored how to use art to mitigate eco-anxiety.
Hosted 3 online workshops with remote communities in Canada—engaging over 30 students on the plastic crisis.
