The Hudson Food Collective–Youth Collective (HFCYC) is a group located on Kanyen'kehà territory in Hudson, QC, working to create a space for the community to come together around issues affecting the local food system. Through hosting and attending local events, the HFCYC has grown a team of youth working to create a more sustainable future through seed saving to conserve local biodiversity and facilitate knowledge sharing–as the group works to develop a community seed bank in the upcoming year.
Impact
Launched the creation of a seed bank—advancing sustainability and creating a knowledge-sharing space.
Hosted the “Eat Think Vote” event, bringing together MPs across different political parties to discuss food and agriculture.
Grown the collective—inviting people in and working to enhance members' skills in facilitation, food transformation, seed saving, event planning, and visioning.

“Our project has engaged our community in the environmental, political and cultural aspects of food, with notable emphasis on youth engagement. We aimed to invite people in, including people who were interested in participating in making a change, no matter their capacity.”
